This Dryer Gas Valve Ignition Solenoid Kit is a newer style that fits all dryers with a two-coil gas valve. The main reasons for replacing the coils are if your dryer does not heat or only heats intermittently. To test the coil functionality, watch the burner and if the igniter glows for awhile and then shuts off without the gas igniting, it usually means one of these coils is is no longer working properly. When removing the larger coil, make sure not to lose the spacer inside of it. The new coil does not include this spacer. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dryer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dryer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.
