The Gas Dryer Igniter lights the gas in your dryer. If your dryer is no longer supplying heat, this part may be damaged or cracked and may need to be replaced. To access the part, lift the top of the dryer by releasing the spring clips from the top panel with a putty knife. Then remove the door switch wires and the screws that release the front panel. Next, simply loosen the screw that holds in the igniter to remove it. Please note that the bracket is no longer included with this part. If your original igniter was round, also order bracket (item 37001309). Replacing this assembly will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dryer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dryer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Note that you cannot touch the grey part of the igniter; only handle the igniter by its white plastic covering.
