Replacing this kit will require basic hand tools, considerable disassembly of the stand mixer and some repair experience. You must unplug the appliance before installing this part and make sure all the attachments are removed. Helpful Tip: You may need to clean, repair and re-grease the entire gearcase to properly install the new parts. Recommended Item: If your mixer has the older-style plastic transmission housing, we recommend upgrading the part to the stronger metal gearcase housing (item 8212396) at the same time you complete this repair.
