Product Description
This Top Load Washer Basket Drive Block connects the inner washer basket to the drive shaft. If the splines of the drive block are damaged and the inner basket isn't being driven, you may need to replace this part. In order to access the part, open the washer lid and remove the cap from the basket with a small flat head screwdriver. Then loosen the bolt with a 7/16" ratchet and remove the wash plate from the tub to gain access to the hub nut assembly. Clean the assembly and lubricate it with penetrating oil to help with removal. Kit includes instruction sheet, (2) wire harness holders, (6) screws (1) drive block assembly. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh?« Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh?« brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
