The SxS Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly receives water from the water inlet, holds the water in the ice mold until it freezes and then automatically ejects the ice and refills again until the ice storage bin is filled. This 8-cube replacement ice maker is compatible with many refrigerator models with in-door ice and water dispensers. The assembly includes (3) wiring harnesses, (1) ice bin assembly, (2) mounting clips and installation instructions. If the coating of your appliances current ice maker is flaking off, or if components inside the assembly are no longer functioning properly, replacing the ice maker assembly may alleviate these issues. Installing the part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also turn off the refrigerator's water supply before you begin. Note that this assembly does not include abail arm; remove the bail arm from the existing ice maker to reuse with the new part.
