This Gas Oven Igniter Assembly will replace a broken bake or broil igniter in your gas range. You may need this part if the element no longer lights, or if the igniter of your oven glows for more than 90 seconds without lighting the gas flame ?û this indicates that the igniter is too weak to properly open the valve to allow the gas to feed through. Note that the igniter must glow white hot to properly light the oven; if it glows red or orange it is not functioning properly. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the oven and novice repair experience. You must unplug the oven or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure to turn off the gas valve before the repair.
