Product Description
The Dishwasher Door Spring applies tension to the dishwasher door through the door hinge to prevent the door from dropping too quickly when you open the dishwasher. Use caution when installing the door spring because the spring is under tension and could snap. To access the part, you'll need to remove the screws that mount the dishwasher to the counter top. This complete assembly includes the spring, retainer and protective tip. Note that your appliance requires two springs; it is recommended that you replace both springs at the same time to prevent an uneven load balance. Springs are sold separately. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. Remember to unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also disconnect your dishwasher's water supply underneath the sink. Place a towel down to catch any water. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh??½ Dishwasher Cleaner (item W10282479) to help remove limescale and mineral build-up that can be unsightly and affect your dishwasher??ås performance. *affresh??½ brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
