The Washer/Dryer Lid Switch Assembly ensures that the appliance door is closed while it's spinning. If the lid switch is broken, the drum will not spin. If the washer won't spin but will still agitate, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Sometimes the body of the switch cracks from slamming the appliance lid over time, or the internal switch fails and is no longer able to tell the lid is closed.
